Their Toxicology Business is currently recruiting for a Chief Medical Officer (CMO). The role is based in their Abingdon (Oxfordshire) office, with hybrid working 3 days a week on site required.
As CMO, you will play a pivotal leadership role in their Occupational Health business during a period of significant growth and transformation. You will be responsible for helping to shape the strategic direction of the Company, whilst driving clinical excellence across their multidisciplinary workforce, ensuring their services remain aligned with evolving industry standards, medical regulations, and strategic business objectives.
You will act as the clinical voice of the organisation, guiding innovation, and ensuring their services deliver measurable value to both their customers and their employees. You will also provide your expertise on the development of OH policies and procedures.
Your remit will include strategic oversight of all clinical services, including:
- Complex case management, including Ill Health Retirement
- Medical assessments
- Health surveillance
- Wellbeing initiatives
- New clinical services
Your leadership will extend to:
- Working alongside the UK SLT
- Conducting clinical reviews
- Training and competency oversight
- Professional revalidation
- Regular clinical audits
- Providing clinical expertise for tender opportunities
You will also:
- Ensure the clinical team is trained and coached to deliver to professional and commercial objectives at all times
- Support the achievement and maintenance of accreditations including SEQOHS, ISO and RISQS accreditations
- Oversee the OHP’s clinical work
- Oversee legislative and regulatory compliance, proactively monitoring changes and implementing required updates to maintain service excellence.

British Airways are looking for a Head of Occupational Health to lead the delivery of occupational health services across British Airways. Reporting into the Chief Medical Officer, you'll provide strategic leadership across occupational health operations, ensuring services remain clinically robust, compliant and aligned to business needs.
Working closely with business leaders, regulators and clinical teams, you'll oversee service delivery, drive continuous improvement and support the development of policies, governance frameworks and innovative ways of working that enable the function to deliver excellent outcomes for both colleagues and the business.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the delivery of occupational health services across British Airways.
- Provide leadership to Occupational Health Managers, Health Surveillance Managers and Musculoskeletal and Ergonomic Specialists.

As an Occupational Physician, you'll provide specialist occupational health support across British Airways, helping colleagues remain fit for work and supporting the business on a wide range of occupational health matters. Working closely with Occupational Health Advisors, Occupational Health Nurses and business areas across the airline, you'll provide medical advice, support policy development and contribute to the continued delivery of occupational health services.
What You'll Do:
- Provide specialist occupational medicine advice and support to colleagues, managers and Occupational Health teams across British Airways.
- Assess and manage occupational health cases, providing guidance on fitness for work and workplace health matters.
